Three Years a Heartthrob
Local skateboarding company celebrates third anniversary over two days

Published February 8, 2012When your company’s birthday is on Valentine’s Day, it seems appropriate to name it after the western symbol of love. Even if it’s a skateboarding company.
Heartthrob Skateboards has been serving the Baton Rouge area for three years now, supplying local skate shops with their custom decks, and hosting community skating events with the Heartthrob skate team. Led by Chris Culotta (better known as DJ Bird), Heartthrob’s anniversary party is offering two chances to entertain the likes of you this weekend.
Kick it off on Friday, Feb. 10, with The Widowers and Secret Smoker at Red Star, with DJ sets by Neighborhood Threat, for only $5.
And of course, you can’t have a skateboarding celebration without a skate session: on Saturday, Feb. 11, visit the BREC Skate Park from 6-10 p.m. for a skate jam, skate demo, live painting, and free stuff! The who Heartthrob team will be there to sign autographs and skate with you, including Christian Dufrene, Nathan Hammond, Dez Sims, and Jordan Pierron. Musical entertainment will be provided by Secret Society in Smaller Lies, and best of all, Saturday’s events are free and open to the public.
Heartthrob is excited to spread the love on Valentine’s weekend, so drag your girlfriend (or boyfriend) out to shred in celebration of the vibrant skateboarding culture in Baton Rouge!
